Zugspitz Arena Gravel Triathlon 2026 - Aquabike Kurzdistanz Race Review
This review was submitted for Zugspitz Arena Gravel Triathlon 2026 - Aquabike Kurzdistanz
Year of participation: 2026 I participated in Aquabike
Swimming in the lake was very pleasant. The course consisted of four laps with three very short exits onto land (less than 10 meters). The shoreline was rocky, making these brief exits somewhat uncomfortable. The bike leg was billed as a gravel course but proved very challenging due to the steepness of the climb and, above all, the descent. Mountain bikes held a clear advantage here; the descent wasn’t fun on a gravel bike, though it was certainly manageable for a skilled rider. The post-race refreshments were excellent—there was even freshly prepared *Kaiserschmarrn*. All in all, a great race set in magnificent scenery.
