Very well organised event

Great event, well organised, super punctual and very sunny (unusual for Hamburg). Water temperature was over 23C, so not neoprene suits allowed. The event is outside Hamburg, so not easily accessible by public transport, but otherwise, it was a great experience.

The transition area was way too long and notenough space for all the bikes. The surfcace was difficult for running (espicially for Aquabiker with problems to run).
Top Event with a Small Setback on the Way to First Place

The race is very well organized, with many dedicated volunteers – without whom such an event would no longer be possible these days. The entry fee for the Aquabike race is more than fair.
The transition area is a bit tight, but that’s also the case at other events – for example, the Hamburg World Triathlon.
Unfortunately, during the race, there was a police operation (or escort) directly in front of me on the course, so I had to ride for about 2–3 minutes at a very low speed (15–20 km/h) behind the vehicles and was neither able nor allowed to overtake.
Normally, that wouldn’t be an issue – but if you end up finishing second overall with just a 4-second gap, it’s very frustrating. It later turned out to be a false alarm. 😇
Since the race organizers were aware of the incident, I believe there should have been two first places.
In summary: A great event in fantastic weather – and I will definitely take part again next year.

Year of participation: 2025 I participated in Aquabike
Nice event and brilliant weather in 2025. Thanks to all volonteers and the organization. But I also think the transition was much too toght with incomming and outgoing athletes and the way to run was difficult and far for “run-disabled” aquabikers. But as I know it was the first time aquabike here and so ther is room to improve. Anyway thanks for offering this event!
