Complicated more than it needed to be...
This review was submitted for Grafman Middle Distance Triathlon 2022
Year of participation: 2022 I participated in Aquabike
Due to the bad weather the bike leg was reduced to just 1-lap (46km). The announcer said we could do just 1-lap of the swim and then go onto the bike leg. Triathlon competitors were also offered variations on their race so got a bit complicated when some opted out of 2nd lap swim, and some “triathletes” didn’t even bother with the run leg and tried to claim Aquabike prizes.
The race result was declared prior to the event as “gun time” and not “chip time” but many found themselves (including myself) down the result list due to triathletes choosing to retire after the bike leg, or even after 1 lap of the run, then opting to go on the Aquabike result lists.
I believe you can only be eligible for the race you entered – if you didn’t finish that then you are a “DNF”.
