Event Description
(provided by race organizer)There is a rolling start with aquabike entrants starting from their own group. It is a sea swim with two safety boats and a group of canoeists for support and marshaling. The swim is in a bay protected by the harbour arm against the prevailing winds. There is no cut-off time for either the swim or bike. The bike is a good challenge with reasonable gradient. There is a medal at finish and there is a channel Tri T-shirt The sea is at its warmest in September and the Folkestone climate is clement so wetsuits are optional. The swim starts from the sandy beach into the sheltered bay. Up some steps to Transition in a fantastic picturesque position on the East Cliff in Folkestone with views of Dover's cliffs and the French coast. The Bike is a pleasant challenge; outward climb in a scenic route.
