  1. Monikie Triathlon Festival 2026 Race Review

This review was submitted for Monikie Triathlon Festival 2026

Year of participation: 2026   I participated in Aquabike

Great location. The reservoir swim was good, a little difficult to sight the bouys, perhaps larger brighter ones would help. The exit from the swim was a challenge, thanks to the Marshalls got their assistance. From swim to transition was a bit of a hike, grateful for the matting. Transition was clearly marked out. The route from the mount line out of the park onto the road was a path, narrowed to accommodate the out and in lines of athletes, consequently not really enough room to accommodate athletes to mount their bikes. On to the road, and what a course. I’d driven the course the previous afternoon, and must admit to having reservations about the road surface. Fortunately, the perspective from on the bike was so different. Yes there were rough bits of road and the occasional small crack/pothole, but none of the gravel and loose debris seen the day before. The course was well signed and marshalled, an absolute dream to ride, and the views superb. A great race.
