  1. This review was submitted for Karri Valley Triathlon 2026 - Short Aquabike

Year of participation: 2026   I participated in Aquabike

This is a small event (overall 360 participants) because of its remote location, but its remoteness enhances the experience. It is well run. The swim is in dark fresh water, which I dont mind, but some find difficult. The transition from the lake to the bikes is up and down a hill, about 150 metres, enough time to dry off a bit, but hard for aqua bikers who often cant run. Carpet was laid for parts of the transition, which is easy on the feet going in, and easy on the shoes going out. The ride is hilly, so hard and slow. I did the long course last year, and enjoyed the short course a lot more this year.
