Hervey Bay 50 2025 Race Review
This review was submitted for Hervey Bay 50 2025
Year of participation: 2025 I participated in Aquabike
The north winds were extremely strong .As a result the 1500m was reduced to approx 500m. Given the conditions i was surprised the swim was not cancelled. However i give great credit to the organisers for being brave enough together with the Lifesavers to give the go ahead, It pleased the competitors no end.
The onshore wind created large choppy challenging conditions. The buoys markers were moving around and had to be secured more than once., After the short run to T1 we head south for 1k and turned to the North until the turnaround. Slightly uphill and into the head wind, but turning around with a tail wind great speed made up for it. after 2 laps , rack the bike and stroll to finish., Great day was had by all.
