  1. 2025 Aquabike Standard Distance World Championships Wollongong

This review was submitted for 2025 Aquabike Standard Distance World Championships Wollongong

Year of participation: 2025   I participated in Aquabike

The organization was very good. The time gap between the aqua bike and sprint event was excellent as it meant that there was very little congestion on the course. The swim was well marked. There was a swell when you left the harbour. Wetsuit swim as temp 19.6C. Bike course had some technical parts (at beginning of each lap) – that had a few drains in awkward places on the corners. They were lucky it did not rain as these could have been hazards at speed. The out and back was fast and on fairly smooth roads – only one lumpy section. Not sure why there was the detour to the surf club that interrupted the fast flow – although that could have been the reason? Certainly, valued the finish line being away from the transition zone as it made the finish and transition zone safer.
