Whether you’re a seasoned racer or gearing up for your first swim-bike event, this new feature is designed to help you relive and analyse your race like never before. I’m absolutely thrilled to share how these personal race reports will give you deeper insight into your performance – in a fun, interactive way. So, what’s it all about? Let’s dive in!
Dive into Your Performance with Interactive Stats
Your Individual Race Report breaks down your performance with detailed stats and interactive charts that bring your race to life on screen. The interactive charts let you explore different aspects of your race. It’s like replaying your race with data – zoom in on specific stats or hover over chart points to get exact values. This level of detail makes analyzing your strengths and spotting areas for improvement both insightful and fun.
The probably most revealing parts of the race report are the ones about your Performance Score. The PS allows you to compare your performance to previous races but also to other athletes in different races, the global average or top performers of your age group and much more. It is important to understand that the Performance Score does not just compare time, pace or average speed. It is the result of a complex calculation which allows you to objectively compare performances from different events, even if the course is completely different, the weather conditions vary, or the length of the swim segment differs from what was stated.
See How You Stack Up (Past & Present)
An Individual Race Report isn’t just a bunch of numbers – it’s context for your achievement. One of the most empowering features is the ability to compare your performance to past results and to global averages.
Beyond your personal history, we’ll show you how you fared against the broader field. Every report places your stats beside global averages for your gender and age group. For instance, you can see how your overall time compares to the average time of all male or female athletes in that race distance, or how you stack up against the typical performance in your age category. You’ll instantly know if you were ahead of the pack, right on the average, or maybe trailing a bit in a certain segment. These comparisons add valuable perspective – finishing a 100 km race in 3 hours might not mean much on its own, but seeing that it’s, say, 15% faster than the global average for your group? That’s huge! It’s like having the world’s scoreboard for context. And if you’re an age-group athlete gunning for podiums, knowing where you stand globally can be a real confidence boost (or maybe the fire you need to train harder). Either way, knowledge is power, and your race report delivers it in style.

What it looks like
Even if you don’t have an account yet, you can check how your Race Reports will look like. We made my Race Report for the 2023 Aquabike Championships in Ibiza publicly available.
Why Some Races Don’t Have a Report
One thing to note about Individual Race Reports: they’re generated when there’s enough data to make the comparisons meaningful. In practical terms, this means a race needs to have a minimum number of competitors for us to create a full report. If only a handful of people are in a race, it wouldn’t be very useful (or fair) to compare times and stats. And most important, we need a minimum amount of data to make a reasonable calculation of Performance Scores is possible. So in races with a very little number of participants we won’t produce an individual report. We know it might be a bummer if your race was really small, but we set this minimum to ensure that whenever you do get a report, it’s based on solid data and credible benchmarks. If your event had too few participants, you’ll still see your result on Aquabike.World, but the fancy charts and comparisons will wait until the next race with a bigger field. This way, every Individual Race Report you see remains insightful and accurate, giving you confidence in the numbers.
Another thing that is crucial for creating a race report are split times. For some events we don’t have results with split times, so in those cases it is also not possible to create a race report. But that’s only a very few races.
Where to Find Your Race Reports
After you finished a race you will get an email with a link to your race report. But of course you can also find the race reports for your past races in your athlete profile. In the result section you will now find a new column with a download-icon for each race that has a race report. Just click on it, get a cup of coffee and dive into your very own race anlysis.
I’m incredibly excited to launch this feature and see athletes using it. It’s all about helping you celebrate your achievements and glean some wisdom for your next race. With detailed visual stats, personal and global comparisons, and accessible options for everyone (free and premium alike), we believe Individual Race Reports will become one of your favourite tools on Aquabike.World. It’s like having a personal sports analyst for your aquabike adventures, ready to show you how awesome you did and where you can crush it even harder next time.
