About Me

GRAVELMAN 2025 will take place Sunday, July 20th in beautiful Killarney Lake Park located in Fredericton, NB. This “no-frills” race occurs entirely within the municipal park’s safe boundaries, which feature a sheltered lake, 10 km forested cycling loop suitable for "gravel" bikes, mountain bikes and fat bikes, and a 2 km lakeside trail run loop. The disciplines of triathlon, duathlon and aqua-bike will be offered, with distances ranging from a fun Kids 10+/Family event to the very challenging “Half-Iron”.

GRAVELMAN is a fundraiser in support of Canadian Cancer Society. Athletes taking part obtain sponsorships from family and friends with proceeds going towards cancer research. Any racer who raises $99 in tax deductible donations receives FREE ENTRY!

The races are serving as 2025 Atlantic Canadian Championships for cross-triathlon and cross-duathlon and offer age group qualifier spots for the 2026 Cross-Triathlon and Cross-Duathlon World Championships being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The GRAVELMAN Canada Triathlon and Duathlon for Cancer is a not-for-profit, community-based sporting event that is held in Fredericton, NB, Canada. The race is renowned for its safe, innovative short course, multi-loop racing format that is highly suitable for “gravel” bikes. The event also serves as a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.

GRAVELMAN was the first ever race of its kind to be held in Canada in 2024. The inaugural event received overwhelming positive reviews and was featured in the September issue of Triathlon Canada Magazine. The 2025 edition will take place on Sunday, July 20th.

    Location
GRAVELMAN is held in the beautiful 1200-acre forested Killarney Lake Park which is located on the north side of the St. John River, just 7.5 km from the centre of the city and easily accessible by car. It is also served by City Transit on an hourly basis.

    Course and Facilities
The Transition area is located in the main field next to the charming Rotary Centennial Lodge. There are bathroom and change rooms on-site, but no showers. Ample parking is available in the main parking lot next to the lodge or at the nearby lakeside parking lot.

The swim leg takes place in warm and sheltered Killarney Lake, the bike leg is a 10 km loop throughout the park’s Nordic ski trails and the run leg is a 2 km loop around the main lakeside walking trail. The bike leg is suitable for gravel bikes in addition to mountain bikes and fat bikes.

    Race Categories
The 3 disciplines of triathlon, duathlon and aqua-bike are offered in both individual and team relay formats, with distance categories ranging from a fun and easy Kids/Family event then progressing through Super-Sprint, Sprint and Olympic races and finally ending with the very challenging “Half-Iron”.

    Fundraiser for Cancer Research
GRAVELMAN is a fundraiser in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Athletes taking part collect sponsorships from family and friends with all proceeds going towards cancer research. All donations of $25 or more will receive a tax-deductible charitable donation receipt. Any participant who raises just $99 in donations qualifies for a FREE ENTRY!

    Championships
GRAVELMAN is serving as the 2025 Atlantic Canadian Championships for cross-triathlon, cross-duathlon and cross-aqua-bike.

    World Championship Qualifier Spots
The event has also secured age group qualifier spots for the 2026 Cross-Triathlon and Cross-Duathlon World Championships being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
