In todays review of the 2021 aquabike season we take a look at the most active and most successful aquabike athletes of the year. Since British athletes have a much bigger choice of races to participate in, it´s quite obvious that the aquabikers with most race participations and also the most wins come from the British Island. But also some athletes from the mainland had a pretty active racing season. So let´s take a closer look.

Yes, we have a clear #1 here. With no less than seven aquabike races Clare Crabtree is also the well deserved leader of the current Aquabike Ranking Europe on the women´s side. However there were also a few ladies with more racing kilometers in their legs this season. While Suzy Esser and Miriam Aigner each did one long distance and two middle distance races with an overall racing distance of 368 km, it was Andrea Nightingale from Guernsey who raced more than any other woman (in terms of racing distance). After one sprint and two standard distance races on Guernsey, she took the gold medal in her age group at the world´s in Almere, closing the season with the Granite Man middle distance race in Guernsey only one week later. All that just before celebrating her 60th birthday later in the year. WOW! Chapeau Andrea!

Also not a big surprise here. Women´s current #1 in aquabike racing in Europe is also the only one who managed to win three races in 2021. Huge Congratulations for this great season go out to Clare!

Not a clear #1 here with Sharkie Jaggard, Michael Savage, Paul Tallentire, Olivier Carteret and Lukas Groenewald all finishing five aquabike races in 2021. However there is a clear #1 when it comes to race distance. And just like in the women´s field it´s not exactly one of the youngsters who completed the longest racing distance during the last aquabike racing season. Despite of the absence of any aquabike event in his home country Germany´s Andreas Seliger completed the long distance World Championships, the middle distance European Championships and also another middle distance and standard distance race in Austria, racing an overall distance of 407 kilometers in 2021. Well done, Andreas!
